How Do Orchids Grow in Nature?

Orchids belong to the Orchid family and are epiphytes that grow naturally on tree trunks - mainly in tropical forests. Their aerial roots are adapted to attach to a tree or rock - Water in such places does not accumulate, but, moisturizing the orchid roots, immediately flows down. In addition, in the nooks and crannies of tree trunks there will always be some organic ingredients that the plant can take up.

Since orchids are epiphytes, they must be grown in special pots with holes that allow good air and water drainage.

Orchids need regular watering, but they don't like too much water because their roots are susceptible to rot. It is recommended to use a special substrate for orchids, which provides them with adequate moisture and allows free air flow and quick drainage of water.
