How Do Monsteras Grow in Nature?

Plants from the Monstera group are climbers that grow in tropical forests. This means their roots are adapted to climb on wooden surfaces, often tree trunks where water doesn't linger for long. Additionally, there are always some organic components in the nooks and crannies of tree trunks that the plant can absorb.

The entire plant grows under the shelter of another tree, acting as a kind of umbrella against rain. If any water falls on the Monstera's roots, it only moistens them and is absorbed by the tree's roots.

The soil it grows in, contrary to appearances, is also depleted by all the surrounding plants. Organic components appear in the form of fallen leaves processed by insects or animal droppings, fungi, and more.

IMSOIL substrate for Monsteras is permeable due to the use of various coconut chips, expanded clay, perlite, and pine bark. Simultaneously, it is rich in nutrients.

The addition of pine bark and coconut fiber of various granulations mimics the natural conditions of both the substrate and the tree trunks the plant climbs on.

Convenient Ziplock Packaging

We package our substrates in packaging equipped with a convenient ziplock, allowing you to easily seal the bag when you don't use the entire substrate. Additionally, the packaging is 100% recyclable.

How to Achieve Greater Plant Growth?

To achieve greater plant growth, we recommend watering the plant with liquid biohumus or sprinkling worm castings in loose form a week after planting. Additionally, you can enhance growth by watering the plant every two weeks with an NPK 20-20-20 or similar fertilizer.

How to Water Your Monstera?

Remember that Monsteras dislike overwatering. Make sure your pot has drainage holes at the bottom, and ensure that water doesn't pool in the saucer after watering.
