The corn snake is undoubtedly a very friendly and interesting snake, recommended especially for novice breeders. It comes in very interesting color varieties, it is extremely active in the terrarium and, what is important, it is a reptile with a very gentle disposition. In this category, we have placed specialized substrates for the corn snake, thanks to which you can recreate the natural conditions in which it lives.
Humidity in a corn snake terrarium should be kept between 40-70% depending on the zone of the terrarium. It is worth to arrange a wet hiding place in the terrarium, which the snake will be able to use as needed or may be useful during molting. Sphagnum moss is perfect for such a hiding place. As a substrate for a corn snake, it is best to choose dust-free substrates, ideally rinsed coconut fiber, which looks very aesthetic, binds feces and allows digging. Dust-free sawdust, e.g. lignocell or aspen substrate, will also work very well.
Optionally, you can also use paper towels or newspapers, which may not be very aesthetic, but it is an economical and convenient solution in terms of cleaning.
