What substratum for Python in a Tropical Terrarium?

In a tropical terrarium with high humidity between 70-90%, choose well-absorbent substrates, such as coconut fiber, which looks very aesthetic, binds feces, and allows digging. Remember about proper ventilation in this type of terrariums so that the substrate does not start to mold.

For arboreal species or species that spend most of their time above the ground, coconut fiber, peat, bioactive substrate, sphagnum moss or even mixtures of these few substrates. It is also worth using underfloor heating, which supports the evaporation of water from the moist substrate, a mixture of coconut chips with sand works well here, which conducts heat well and supports the evaporation of water from the coconut fiber, thanks to which the snake practically does not go down to the ground. It is an ideal substrate for the Green Tree Python (Morelia Viridis) and for the carpet python (morelia spilota).

For terrestrial pythons, a 2:1 mix of coconut fiber with peat or the coconut substrate alone, a mixture of sand with peat, sphagnum moss will work. It will be an ideal substrate for a Indian Python (Python Molurus) or Blood python (Python Curtus).
