In this category you will find soils and specialist terrarium mixes for crested geckos and other arboreal reptiles that like high humidity. In the wild, crested geckos spend most of their time on the branches of trees and shrubs, where they look for food and shelter. It is therefore good to provide the gecko with conditions as close to natural as possible, i.e. high humidity (70-90%) and the possibility of climbing. The choice of substrate translates directly into the microclimate in the tank.

What Substrate for Crested Gecko (Correlophus ciliatus)?

The coconut substrate works great as a substrate for the Crested Gecko, as it perfectly maintains the right humidity in the entire terrarium. It is also worth using ready-made, active mixtures of substrates for this species of geckos, which are adapted to planting and well support the development of plant roots. At the same time, they have a safe structure for the delicate skin of geckos and do not dust or stick to the gecko's paws. When it happens that your Gecko sometimes comes down to the ground, it will feel safe.
