Appropriate, properly selected substrate for arrowroot plants is half the success in their cultivation. The soil itself for Arrowroot is one of the worse choices, they need a mixture that will help us prevent the plant from overflowing, rotting the roots, let air into the roots and also nourish it properly so that it grows beautiful and healthy. These plants require a light, highly permeable, slightly acidic mix. Substrate for Arrowroot should contain approx. 25-30% of acidic peat and approx. 20% of hummus or worm castings. A mix of perlite, vermiculite and coconut chips or coconut peat is ideal to complete the soil mixture.

Marantaceae (Marantaceae) are rhizomatous perennials from the monocotyledonous plant family of the ginger family, which includes about 400 species. They need a light and permeable substrate with a slightly acid reaction (pH should be between 4.5-6). Most arrowroots feel best in a light and semi-shady position. Watering with soft water at room temperature, water straight from the tap and poor quality water should be avoided. Rainwater, aquarium water, boiled or filtered water will work well.
