The Eco T5 Zone 1 lamp (8 W - 312 mm) has been added to the range to provide high quality lighting at an affordable price, giving everyone access to good UV lighting. This lightweight single lamp with built-in reflector combines the Reptile Systems HOT5 lamp with a reliable, flicker-free electronic ballast in one convenient package. It has a removable 103° reflector, which, thanks to its uncoated, highly reflective surface, provides a wide spread of light and offers one of the best results achievable for a unit of this type.

Reptile lamps are designed to replicate the sunlight profile as closely as possible to produce a full spectrum lamp with balanced amounts of UVA and UVB, while producing excellent natural colors. We recognized the need for good quality UV lighting so reptiles could convert it to D3 through a series of chemical events. This process is self-regulating and is essential for reptiles to absorb calcium from their diet, eliminating the risk of metabolic bone disease.

Ferguson zones

The most modern and enlightened way to determine UV requirements for your reptile is to use Ferguson zones. These zones are divided into UV requirements and natural annealing properties for selected species. Find your pet on the chart, or one that closely resembles its behavior, and it will point you to the zone you need.

Due to the budget nature of this unique unit, it is NOT compatible with the Reptile Systems T5 New Dawn LED, but is suitable for all standard T5 fluorescent lamps for reptiles and birds.
